LEID Products Announces Version 2.0 of the BACS ID Station Kiosk

All Steel, Tamper Proof Kiosk Enhancements Provide Additional Security and Functionality

Auburn Hills, MI - March 6, 2012 - LEID Products, LLC., the manufacturing leader of electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced sleek new enhancements to their biometric BACSTM ID Station kiosk. The kiosk houses a fingerprint reader for access verification, RFID or barcode reader for asset verification and optional card reader for additional security of valuable equipment and assets.

Chain of custody is electronically tracked and accounted for whether tracking evidence or other assets, limiting liability and consequences of exposure to human error. Additional layers of security can be added with options including: hand geometry scanner, card reader, and barcode reader.

“We’re excited to announce our new BACS kiosk enhancements. The modern look, tamper proof construction and larger kiosk screen provide customers with a stylish product that provides additional security and functionality,” said David Foster, Vice President of Engineering, LEID Products, LLC. “Our BACS software then allows each client the flexibility to customize the system to maximize functionality and ultimately their savings.”

LEID Products Biometric Access Control System (BACSTM) ID Station kiosk serves as the control point for access to assets stored in electronic storage units. The BACS system, with customized software, provides an innovative asset management system and proven solution installed in law enforcement and military facilities for secure storage and tracking of highly sensitive items including: valuable equipment, weapons, controlled medications and evidence. Product enhancements in version 2.0 include all steel, tamper proof construction and a larger kiosk screen. The unit now comes equipped with wheels, so it is more easily moved. However, the unit can still be permanently installed.

The BACS system ensures proper maintenance and security of department assets, each asset containing an RFID chip for tracking purposes. The system encompasses storage cabinets with electronic rotary latch locks to secure all front doors; law enforcement clients use to secure weapons, night vision goggles, lasers, AEDs, surveillance equipment and more. Remote access is available, allowing administrators the ability to control the system at all times. The biometric (fingerprint) reader allows only authorized users to access assets, each user is restricted to access to only the items they have been qualified to use by the administrator.

    LEID Products Partners
    With Advanced Kiosks

Auburn-Hills, Mich.-based LEID Products (leidproducts.com) has developed a partnership with New Hampshire-based Advanced Kiosks (advancedkiosks.com) to develop its wall-mounted kiosks for its law enforcement customers.

“We have been looking for a thin, wall-mounted kiosk that could integrate our software system that secures law enforcement departments’ armory,” says Sam Hoff, president of LEID Products. “We found exactly what we wanted in Advanced Kiosks and they have met our needs in both their products and customer service.”

LEID Products will install a software system (developed by LEID’s sister company Patti Engineering – pattieng.com) into the kiosk and law enforcement personnel can access their specific equipment from the armory via a biometric fingerprint reader, user password, biometric hand geometry reader, key fob or employee ID card.

“Our kiosk will meet the varying needs of law enforcement departments, “says Advanced Kiosk Owner Howard Horn. “The equipment controls its own environment with an internal cooling system no matter where the armory is located, is user-friendly with Windows XP operating software for the less-skilled software user and has a stainless-steel front for durability in a multi-shift environment.”

LEID Products, LLC was originally founded to assist police departments in securing their assets (guns, weapons and radios) through an electronic tracking and fingerprinting system.
