Another community benefits from LEID Products library access solutions including electronic lockers for self-service pick up of reserved library materials, as reported in the Herald Journal. This is Carver County’s third Express Library location – the patrons love it!

MAYER, MN – Mayer residents now have access to the resources of the Carver County Library without having to leave town.

Members of the Carver County Library Board, library staff, county commissioners, and the city council were present for a ribbon-cutting to open the new Carver County Express Library at the Mayer Community Center last Monday.

Area residents will now be able to order library materials online, including books, CDs, DVDs, and other items, and pick them up from secure lockers at the community center.

Materials may also be requested by phone or at the library.

The lockers will be stocked three times per week, and library patrons will be able to access the materials by entering a code on the keypad on the locker unit.

The express library, located in the entry to the community center, will be available 24-hours per day.

Patrons will be able to return materials in the book drop located outside the community center.

Library users will need to register their library cards, and will be able to manage their library account online using a four-digit PIN number.

When patrons request materials online, library staff will send a notice via e-mail to let them know when materials are available for pickup.

Carver County Commissioner Jim Ische was an advocate for bringing the express library service to Mayer, and said the program has been a tremendous success in other communities where it has been introduced.
